A great project starts with a great design. Nancy has worked on "design only" projects where the builder or client is in need of functional space plan and elevations only. This is easily accomplished by finding out the needs of the client, producing the design and supplying the prints. The kitchen is always part of the project, but other areas, such as a laundry room or entertainment area or even a powder room, may be included

Design & Specification

Nancy works on the majority of projects from design to completion insuring that all the chosen items and finishes are what was specified including wall colors, flooring and lighting, right down to the hardware on the cabinets.

ADA and Special Needs

Special needs are always a concern when designing for clients. Nancy has worked with ADA requirements creating universal designs for baths and kitchens giving her clients a sense of independence and satisfaction.

Nancy Hugo Interiors, LLC was created to supply granite & engineered stone countertops, tile & carpet, window treatments and furniture directly to Nancy's clients.

So you want to Remodel...
but where do you start?

Decide what you want. If it's the kitchen you would like to remodel, determine what you like and don't like about your existing kitchen. Do you want to add more footage or just update the same space.

Start a scrap book. Look through magazines and model homes, collect pictures of appliances, cabinets, colors, countertop materials. Put everything you like in your scrap book, circle the different elements that attract you. It might be crown molding or a certain cabinet handle or window treatment.

Determine your budget. How much do you really want to spend and add 20% to that figure just because you will go over the budget. It is very important to list your priorities. If you do very little cooking, a professional range would not be a good investment, unless you are doing the remodel for resale. In that case, check with your neighbors to see what everyone else has. You certainly want to offer a great kitchen that is indicative of the area.

There are going to be many choices to make, and it does get overwhelming for someone who hasn't done this before. Your kitchen designer will help you chose the appliances, suggest the cabinets, plumbing, countertop material, lighting and flooring.
